A DINNER FOR A CAUSE
On August 23, 2025, our final One Plate, One Hope event of the season was held at Broadway Studio, generously offered by its owner, Francesca Valdez. Francesca was not only a devoted supporter of Radiant Light Philippines, Inc., but also the first to initiate the Adopt-a-Room Campaign by donating $5,000 to dedicate a room in honor of her beloved patron saint of her school, St. Teresa of Ávila.
True to her advocacy, Francesca opened the doors of Broadway Studio for our mission, insisting that it could always be used freely for fundraising events for exploited children. This evening became more than just a benefit—it was a tribute to her remarkable life, generosity, and unwavering compassion for women and children in need.
Only weeks after her gift, Francesca lost her courageous battle with cancer, a struggle she had borne for many years. Her passing filled us with sorrow, yet her legacy of love, joy, and advocacy lives on through the mission she so wholeheartedly supported.
The evening reflected her spirit—filled with fine dining, joyful dancing led by an instructor, and the timeless music of her generation. Generosity abounded as hearts and minds united in a common purpose: to bring light and hope to the most vulnerable.
Francesca’s life was one of celebration, and Broadway Studio—where she created countless joyful memories—became the perfect place to honor her final gift of love.
I attended an event at Broadway Studios, San Francisco, last August 23, 2025, it was a fundraising event supporting children who have suffered from sexual abuse. My heart was moved, but it also reminded me of God’s promise –“Let the little children come to me”. Through faith, compassion and love, we can help bring healing, hope and light into their lives. May we continue to be God’s hands, feet and heart to His most vulnerable children. Together let’s support Radiant Light Philippines Inc. and its partner Mary’s Immaculate Heart Missionaries “every dollar counts”. God bless us all.
